Next Frontier Founders Companies Graduate at 4YFN

After months working on business development strategies, intellectual property, and communication, the companies participating in the Next Frontier Founders program presented their solutions at Four Years From Now (4YFN) on March 4, during a pitching session organized by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) and sponsored by Fractus, marking the culmination of their journey through the program. The NFF is also a UPC initiative supported by Fractus within the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub, aimed at preparing University start-ups and spin-offs for investment.

The solutions presented addressed areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced infrastructures, climate and industrial innovation, mobility, and health. They were delivered in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating the founders’ growth and their ability to provide what deep-tech innovations require: bold ideas, solid science, and people capable of communicating the purpose of their technologies.

The founders who participated this year in the UPC Startup Pitching Session presented the business projects of twelve companies:

• Artivit AI SL (Numerand), creator of AI agents that automate repetitive tasks in finance and provide recommendations to optimize finances for small and medium-sized enterprises.
• Datlantis ReGen, unlocking the scalability of AI by deploying underwater data centers in offshore wind and wave energy farms, aiming to mitigate energy, water, and land constraints in the sector.
• Folgrid Technologies SL, developer of an optical system that diffuses sunlight to reduce thermal stress, water consumption, and climate impact in crops used for photovoltaic energy production.
• Helix AI, developer of the first commercial Graph Foundation Model (GFM) applied to cancer, capable of learning complex biological processes at massive scale using multi-omics data.
• May One, creator of the first patented automatic chain tensioner, controlled via mobile phone, capable of precisely adjusting motorcycle chains and reducing accident risk.
• MiWEndo Solutions, developer of the first accessory inserted at the distal end of conventional colonoscopes that, using microwaves and AI, can detect polyps that are not visible.
• Moai Tech (Nobrac), assesses carbon capture in forests using ultra-high-resolution satellite images and advanced AI, providing data and certifications that strengthen credibility in carbon credit markets.
• Naso Shield (AYRO Solutions), developer of a reusable intranasal device for industrial environments, compatible with existing PPE, improving worker safety without compromising comfort or productivity.
• byNeural, an online platform enabling SMEs to create AI assistants that automate tasks such as customer service via web and WhatsApp or calendar management.
• Strathens Technologies SL, an AI platform providing real-time insights into company operations, recommending actions and solutions to speed up decision-making.
• Muvity, a UPC spin-off that participated in the previous NFF edition and offers a platform based on gamified exercises for remote rehabilitation of chronic injuries.

Folgrid Technologies SL, Strathens Technologies SL, Datlantis ReGen, Naso Shield (AYRO Solutions), and byNeural were also present for two days at the UPC Startup Corner stand, where—together with around thirty additional start-ups and spin-offs from the University—they showcased their technological capabilities.
